Hello Stamford...

What an exciting week it was in the Jack Johnny Long Gymnasium last Tuesday night. The Senior Girls' Volleyball destroyed their arch enemy, the A.N. Myer Maraurders!  They also demolished a 10+ year losing streak' against them.  The game was fought hard by the whole team.  With a 91% serving average, the girls' worked very hard to beat them 3 sets to 1.  Congratulations ladies!!

The girls' are heading up north for their second annual 3 day team bonding trip and will be playing against Barrie Central.  Their school is an exact replica of Stamford.  They too are Proud of their Tradition, being the first high school to be built in Barrie.  But this will be our last game against them, since their school will be closing their doors in June due to budget cuts.

The Senior Boys' Basketball team played their 3rd game against Westlane on Wednesday.  They came up short, losing to the Spartans by 6 points.  The boys' kept the game close throughout the match, but just came up short near the end.

Next week, some of our teams will be practicing while others are focusing on their studies for exams.

As teacher-coaches, we want to wish our student-athletes good luck and study hard for their exams which start on Friday Jan 23rd.
