Stamford’s Math Department:
Stamford's Math Department offers a wide range of courses from Grade 9 through Grade 12, designed to meet the needs and goals of all learners. Our teachers engage students in developing strong mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills through a variety of approaches — including direct instruction, technology integration, hands-on activities, and vertical classrooms. Students are supported in building confidence and transferable skills that prepare them for success in university, college, the trades, and the workplace.
Math Support:
Homework Hotspot runs every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:20 to 3:20 PM in the library. There are Math teachers present each night to support students with practice questions, and to help prepare for assessments. Please ask your teacher if you need additional support outside of these times.
Math Contests:
There are 2 to 3 Math Contests held each semester, and all students are welcome and encouraged to participate! Contest dates, details, and the sign-up sheet are posted on the Math Bulletin Board. See Ms. Fillingham if you have any questions or would like to learn more.
Math Club:
Math Club meets every other Friday in Room 242! It’s a great place to get support with math topics, collaborate with peers, or challenge yourself by practicing past Math Contest questions. If you’re interested in joining, stop by at lunch — everyone is welcome!
